The company plans to establish a solar production facility in the United States as part of its international expansion strategy

Turkish solar technology manufacturer Kalyon PV plans to establish a production facility in the United States as part of its international expansion strategy, targeting direct sales and incentives for domestic manufacturing.

The company announced the planned investment during an investor meeting Wednesday at its integrated manufacturing complex in Ankara. It said a U.S.-based partnership, in which Kalyon PV will hold a majority stake, will operate the facility. The company has completed the establishment of its U.S. entity.

The planned plant will manufacture solar panels and related products in line with U.S. regulations and domestic-content requirements. Kalyon PV also intends to establish local sales and marketing operations. (By the way I have a story here about Kalyon PV)

U.S’ incentives supporting domestic production

The investment is aimed at capitalizing on growing U.S. solar energy demand and incentives supporting domestic production. The company is working with a U.S.-based consultancy on tax, legal and investment matters and expects to pursue federal, state and local incentives.

Kalyon PV Chair Murathan Kalyoncu said the company aims to expand internationally by leveraging its manufacturing expertise and technological capabilities developed in Türkiye.

The company has invested in research and development, technology and human resources since its establishment, Kalyoncu noted , citing its role in supplying panels for the Kalyon Karapınar Solar Power Plant, one of Europe’s largest solar facilities.

The U.S. investment marks a new phase in the company’s global growth strategy, Kalyoncu said, adding that expanding production capacity and entering new markets would support its international ambitions.
