Through the $1 billion investment, Turkcell to handle sales and marketing of the services offered in the cloud region

Turkish telecommunications and technology company Turkcell announced a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to form a new cloud region in Turkey.

Under the agreement, Google Cloud plans to launch a new region in collaboration with Turkcell, bringing high-performance, low-latency cloud services to local customers. The new region will make advanced Google services — including data analytics, cybersecurity, and digital business solutions — available to organizations of all sizes, from startups to large enterprises, boosting the country’s digital ecosystem. Turkcell will not only partner in building the new cloud region but also handle sales and marketing of the services offered through the region. The company revealed the collaboration strengthens its vision to advance Turkey’s digital transformation and position the country as a regional hub for digital innovation.In a disclosure to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Turkcell announced that the new cloud region is planned to become operational between 2028 and 2029

Let me note that Turkey’s cloud market is projected to grow from $1.7 billion in 2024 to $4.2 billion by 2029, representing a 20% compound annual growth rate, according to IDC.
