Legendary Turkish pop icon Sezen Aksu has made a striking return with her latest album Paşa Gönül Şarkıları, and the first music video from the release is already making headlines—not just for its music, but for its innovative use of artificial intelligence.

The video for the track Doğrucu, performed by Aksu alongside Ozan Bayraşa, was directed by Öner Biberkökü and created using Google’s cutting-edge AI technologies, Gemini and Veo 3. The project stands out as a pioneering example at the intersection of technology and art, offering a glimpse into the creative potential of AI in visual storytelling. Veo 3, Google’s new video generation model, enables not only cinematic video creation but also localized sound production. Known for supporting detailed, imaginative prompts, the model sets a new benchmark in physical realism, scene consistency, and narrative integrity.

Google Gemini and Veo 3 are combined with human creativity

Speaking on the collaboration, Google Turkey CMO Serkan Girgin said:

“The music video for Sezen Aksu’s ‘Doğrucu’ is a powerful demonstration of what can emerge when AI technologies like Google Gemini and Veo 3 are combined with human creativity. Director Öner S. Biberkökü emphasized the blend of artistic vision and AI capabilities in the video’s production:

“While listening to the album with Sezen, one track’s ‘Şinanay’ refrain instantly transported me back to childhood. In my mind, Sezen transformed into a sparrow—a symbol of constant presence in our lives—and took her place in the video. Most importantly, the aesthetics of the video were shaped entirely by my perspective, crafted through prompts with Gemini and Veo 3. Working with AI like painting with words and shaping scenes through direction opened up a completely new kind of filmmaking experience.”
