Turkey’s EV producer Togg replaces board

The new board aims to expand to international markets

Fuat Tosyalı has been appointed as the new chairman of Turkey’s EV manufacturer, Togg. Tosyalı, who also leads the Turkish conglomerate Tosyalı Holding. Tosyalı takes over from Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, who had held the position since 2018, according to a statement from Togg. Hisarcıklıoğlu is also the head of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB).

At a meeting on Sept. 24, Togg’s newly appointed board of governors elected Tosyalı as chairman. Following his election, Tosyalı stated, “Our aim with Togg is to expand our success in Türkiye to international markets with exports beginning in 2025 and establish ourselves as a global technology brand.” Ahmet Nazif Zorlu, the head of Zorlu Holding, another prominent Turkish conglomerate, was named deputy chairman. Founded in 2018, Togg started deliveries in 2022

Togg, founded in 2018, was created through the collaboration of Anadolu Group, BMC, Kök Group, Turkcell, Zorlu Holding, and TOBB. The company introduced its first electric vehicle prototype, the T10X, in December 2019 and began mass production of the model in 2022, with deliveries starting the following year.

In Turkey, EV sales surged by 55.8% year-on-year in September, reaching 60,838 units and making up 9% of the overall car market, according to Automotive Distributors’ and Mobility Association, which has 31 members that represent 52 international brands.
