Koç Holding selected four startups for the first cohort of its Climate Technologies Acceleration Program, launched in collaboration with Koç University Entrepreneurship Center (KWORKS).

Following an evaluation process focused on water technologies, BlueIT, Cleture, Generative Nature and Gristek were chosen to join the program. The selected startups will gain access to pilot project opportunities with Koç Group companies, as well as mentorship and potential investment support.(By the way I have a story here about Fazla, active in sustainability and food waste management)

The program targets solutions addressing challenges in water management and efficiency

BlueIT

Offers a digital water management platform that enables industrial facilities and commercial buildings to monitor and manage water and wastewater processes using real-time data and artificial intelligence-supported analytics. The company currently operates in more than 40 facilities.

Generative Nature

Develops next-generation agricultural automation technology for soilless farming greenhouses. The system analyzes real-time data from 17 sensors and autonomous robots using AI agents to generate plant-specific fertilization plans. The U.S.-based startup, which conducts research and development activities in Türkiye, aims to improve greenhouse productivity while significantly reducing water and fertilizer use.

Gristek

Focuses on reducing dependence on centralized treatment infrastructure in both public and private sectors. Its plug-and-play greywater treatment systems, which can be installed within an hour, aim to lower mains water costs by up to 40% while enabling real-time digital water footprint tracking through IoT-based infrastructure.

As part of the accelerator, the startups will undergo a comprehensive development process including training sessions, mentorship meetings and investor networking opportunities.

Water management is a key component of Koç Holding’s sustainability strategy. The group is among the signatories of the CEO Water Mandate and a member of the World Economic Forum Water Futures community. Across its value chain, Koç Group companies are implementing technologies to improve water efficiency. Among them, Entek uses AI-driven data analysis to forecast water flow in dams and enhance energy production efficiency, while TürkTraktör supports farmers in managing water resources more effectively through digital agriculture applications.
