Turkcell to offer Google AI tools as ‘digital perk’ for employees

Turkcell staff to use Gemini, NotebookLM and Nano Banana from Google’s AI tools

Turkcell, Turkiye’s leading GSM operator by subscriber numbers, will allow its employees to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools including Gemini, NotebookLM and Nano Banana, the company’s chief executive said.

Chief Executive Ali Taha Koç announced the move in a post on Instagram, describing access to the tools as a “digital perk” for staff.

Turkcell and Google Cloud to invest $3 billion

“Our goal is to become one of the organizations that uses AI most effectively and expands the value it creates,” Koç said, adding that the company would continue to take innovative steps in its working culture in line with that objective.

Koç made the remarks during a panel held within the company, attended by A. Önder Gürler, Country Manager at Google Cloud Turkiye, Mustafa Demirhan, CIO at Turkcell, also shared his views at the event, which was moderated by Yusuf Yiğit, AI and Analytics Solutions Director at Turkcell.

Separately, Turkcell has reached an agreement with Google Cloud involving a total investment of $3 billion, Koç announced. Of that amount, $1 billion will be financed by Turkcell and $2 billion by Google Cloud.(By the way I have a story here about Turkcell’s investments with Google Cloud)
